Dancing for the Spirit
A two year project based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital funded by the Bridge House Estates Trust Fund. It involved performances and workshops by various established artists on dance and music, storytelling, puppetry and more.
The performances were aimed at the patients/staff/visitors providing distraction from the stress of illness, encouraging social interaction breaking the monotony of a hospital environment and introducing the audience, including children who took the workshops, to South Asian culture and art forms.
Mavin Khoo and a group of musicians give a mesmerising Bharatanatyam performance during the project launch at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, 18th May 2000.
