Dance Artist call-out for Pravaas
Apply by 15 Dec 2022
Akademi is looking for 3 dance artists working with South Asian dance forms to perform in Pravaas, our new outdoor dance work exploring issues around climate driven movement of people. Dance artists will be working collaboratively with a choreographer and Akademi and Pravaas’s Artistic Director, Suba Subramaniam.
Pravaas is being made in consultation with climate scientists, drawing upon real-life stories of communities affected by floods and cyclones due to climate change in the Sundarbans area in West Bengal, India. This is a unique opportunity to work in a production where scientific research and sustainability are at the heart of the creative process.
To apply, please email info@akademi.co.uk with your CV, a maximum of 3 weblinks of your most recent performances and a cover letter (no more than one A4 side) with your expression of interest outlining how your experience is suitable for this show, highlighting any previous experience of working in outdoor touring dance productions. Please note, the applicant must live and have the right to work in the UK.
Please also complete the confidential equal opportunities monitoring form here. Akademi is committed to be an Equal Opportunities employer and recognises the importance and advantages of diverse workplaces and communities. Any candidate who self-identifies as D/deaf, disabled or neurodivergent, as a person of colour, and/or as gender queer, and who meets the essential person specification, is guaranteed an interview. If you feel that this applies to you, please indicate in your application email.
