Saturday 7 March 2026, 7:30pm
The Place London
We are delighted to be participating in the National Dance Day under the aegis of Let’s Dance, the national campaign founded by Angela Rippon CBE, once again this year. Let’s Dance aims to inspire everyone in the UK to embrace dance as a way to improve their health, connect with others, and have fun.
As part of this year’s campaign, The Place is presenting Seasoned, an mixed bill of brand-new works performed by older dancers whose creativity has been shaped by a lifelong relationship with movement. On Saturday 7 March 2026 at 7.30pm, more than 100 performers from leading community groups and companies for older dancers across the UK will come together on stage at The Place.
Akademi, in collaboration with camden based older people’s charity, The Third Age Project (TAP), will be presenting a dance performance by our Dance Well programme participants. Akademi artist Georgia Cornwall leads weekly South Asian dance sessions at TAP and she will be leading the group during the performance..
The programme also includes dancers from The Place’s Act 11, Royal Academy of Dance’s Silver Swans, Trinity Laban’s Over 60s Dance, EncoreEast, Damn Fine Dance, and Quercum.
About Let’s Dance
The legendary and toe-tappingly fantastic Angela Rippon CBE partnered with national organisations last year to launch a campaign on 2 March 2025, that aimed to bring dance to everyone. This incredible initiative gathered dance organisations, charities, health professionals, community groups, and even celebrities, all to get MORE people dancing!
Angela’s journey on Strictly Come Dancing highlighted to her the incredible benefits of regular dancing, and now
she’s on a mission to get the whole nation dancing, a vision Akademi shares.
