Performance at V&A Museum’s ‘Make and Meet’, 7 Mar

William Morris Cafe, V&A Museum

The Victoria and Albert Museum buzzed with creative energy on March 7th during its Make and Meet event. The afternoon featured the rhythmic Kathak dance of Jesal Patel, the soulful music of Niraj Chag, and the focused artistry of young participants.

This special collaboration between the V&A, Akademi, and visual artist Rosemary Jane Cronin drew inspiration from the museum’s ‘The Great Mughals’ exhibition. Rosemary led a live drawing session where Jesal Patel’s fluid movements and striking poses became the subject for the budding artists, each interpreting the dance through their own unique lens.

Jesal’s passion for working with the elderly and vulnerable lead her to a path of leading ‘Dance Well’ workshops, projects and performances for CW plus and Holborn Community Association via Akademi.
