Akademi curates a special afternoon of dance, music, and conversations around the Agra Colonnade – one of V&A museum’s most remarkable architectural fragments.
Join us for an immersive afternoon exploring the magnificent Agra Colonnade through dance, music, and conversations. This special event brings together the creative voices who will take you through a journey, reimagining this architectural masterpiece in its contemporary context.
Centred around Mehfooz, Akademi’s acclaimed film commission, choreographed by Shyam Dattani and filmed by Romain Beck, the day invites visitors to discover how dancers, choreographers, filmmakers, and curators collaborated to transform silent stone into a living story. Participate in immersive movement workshops, meet the creative team, and take part in guided tours that bring you face-to-face with the colonnade’s exquisite craftsmanship and long-travelled history.
This is an invitation to move with heritage, not just observe it. Whether you’re curious about South Asian dance, contemporary choreography, architectural histories, or the creative process, this event opens a rare window into cross-cultural collaboration and embodied interpretation.
Presented by Akademi in partnership with V&A East, experience the artistry of transforming historical narratives into dance. All ages and experience levels welcome.
