*NEW | Job opportunity at Akademi | Trustees
Vacancy: Trustees
As part of our ongoing board development, we are welcoming new trustees in the coming months. This period of transition will see the departure of some long-serving board members, whose contributions have been invaluable over the years. This process is an exciting opportunity to inject fresh perspectives and expertise into our organisation, with lived experience in the fields within which we operate, to strengthen our impact and shape our future direction.
Our trustees play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership and governance for the charity. While the organisation gains from their skills and ideas, it is an ideal opportunity for someone who is aspiring for professional development as well as wishing to make a significant contribution to culture in our society.
We wish to continue to develop a board that is reflective of our stakeholders and participants which will expand and diversify the experience and voices on our board of Trustees. We are recruiting new trustees particularly with expertise or lived experience in the following fields.
- Environment and sustainability (research, advocacy,
policy) - Education including Special Education Needs and
Disabilities - Work with local authorities and community settings
- National Health Service (NHS)
- Legal
- Artistic background (particularly with knowledge of
South Asian dance) - Development / Fundraising
