Working with children and young people with challenging behaviour
Akademi are programming a training day for education artists that will explore:
- affective approaches for engaging and retaining young people and children with challenging behaviour in dance sessions (and longer-term projects)
- the range of learning needs that children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties might have
- how to deliver dynamic sessions across all learning approaches in order to be are accessible to these varying learning needs
- good practice
By the end of the training you will:
- feel more aware of the arising issues around working with young people and children with challenging social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
- have gained increased confidence in designing and delivering sessions for young people and children with challenging social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
- have had the chance to share and discuss your experiences in your dance form with other artists
- have the opportunity to have follow up support from Jump Start Move and Akademi in the related work that you do
