Akademi's inter-gernerational programmes provide the opportunity and encourage interaction for families by engaging in creative activities. Research has shown that such activities help to enhance relationships besides providing fun and creative projects.
We launched our Family Learning programme in 2009 to maximize this intergenerational reach and foster good relationships between families through dance, multimedia and by exploring family origins and histories. Families have discovered some wonderful moments and instances of familial relationships and joy.
Akademi has created a rich network of partners including Brent & Barnet Library Services, Brent Youth Parliament and Barnet Young Carers, to deliver this programme.
