In 2009, Akademi chose three top dance artists to participate in our choreographic development programme for artists working in South Asian dance. Subathra Subramaniam, Aakash Odedra and Kali Chandra Segaram were selected for the bursary, initiated by Akademi and funded by Arts Council England (ACE).
This is the first time that ACE has worked with Akademi to support a South Asian choreographic development programme. The ACE South Asian Choreographic Development Programme Bursary programme will allow us to extend our services in developing and nurturing South Asian dance in the UK.
