DAREDEVAS 2006

An evening of bold and adventurous performances from an audacious mix of new talent. British-based with international roots, these artists provide a fresh take on traditional Indian dance styles Kathak and Bharatanatyam. They have come together to create an evening of performances that are bold, alluring and fiercely accomplished.

Under the guidance of mentor John-Marc Gowans, the show featured performances by Divya Kasturi, Shamita Ray, Marcella Cappelletti and Yamuna Devi, Sarra Whicheloe, Hanna Mannila and Seema Patel.

Akademi also presented Daredevas in collaboration with Milapfest at The Lowry in Salford on Saturday 5th May 2007 with dancers Amina Khayyam, Hanna Mannila, Seema Patel and Shamita Ray.
